Wounded in the trenches some place in Argonne at the beginning of fall 1915, Simon and some of his companions are transferred to a hospital. Away from the battle line. Here, the wounds may healed and the men begin to revive, to life, to their desires, to their dreams. A few weeks of recovery, a few months, before most of them will have to go back to war.
