Early november 1956. In Hungary, the Red Army is heading towards Budapest to crush people fighting for their freedom. In Egypt, French troops, English troops and Israeli troops are storming the Suez Canal. Their objective : taking down Gamal Abdel Nassar, flag bearer of arab nationalism. Just eleven years after WWII, the world is ready to catch fire again. What really happened that year ? What became so differently violent with the 1945 status ? What will be the new balance of power ? This film is looking back at 1956, a pivotal year on cold war, the year that reshuffled the cards of geopolitics for decades to come.
